During the last century, the path taken by the world economy concerns every country. It becomes necessary to orientate the processes of globalization of the economy that influence severely the evolution of societies.

It is about finding solutions to the imbalances not only between rich and poor countries but also between Nature and Humanity.

A fanciful but inevitable mission, to which the province of Soria provides historical wisdom, crucial pragmatism and the enthusiasm of its people. 

More than 20 years have passed since the Forum of Soria began its journey, implementing the Local Agenda 21 throughout the province, complying with the criteria of the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992.

This year we celebrate 10 years of the convening international conferences on sustainable development to educate the whole society.

Lisbon will host the World Forum Lisbon 21 on Water, Energy and Sustainable Development, with which we will celebrate our 10^th Anniversary. We want to unite all the efforts to show the European progress in Sustainability following the Rio Summit in 1992 and the Johannesburg Summit in 2002, to present to the upcoming Earth Summit Rio+ 20, which will take place next year in Rio de Janeiro.
